We stayed in Chatfield State Park while visiting Denver, Colorado. We enjoyed the quiet and clean campground. It’s one of the most well organized state parks we’ve seen. They were doing a lot of work to it while we were there but it never hindered our ability to use the park.
After setting up and eating dinner, we went out for a nice romantic stroll by the water when the sun was setting.

The next day, we went to the Red Rock Amphitheater! It is known as one of the best outdoor amphitheaters in the country. It took about a million steps but we got to the top (totally exaggerating but there were a lot of steps).
The amphitheater was built into the red rocks all around us. It was amazing to see.

There were some legendary performances on this stage!

Some of them performed before the stage was actually built.

See below for Jared and one of his favorite artists:

We thoroughly enjoyed the exhibit of the artists who’ve played there. They had some before and after photos of the Red Rock Amphitheater.
When we were heading out, the stage crew started to do an audio check. It sounded amazing. We wished we could have watched a show but the upcoming shows didn’t really interest us too much.
We had a few errands to do before we headed out to our next event. I still needed to get some shoes for the wedding we were in! We went into a few stores and tried to find some gold high heels. It took some more shopping but we finally found some.
We even got to catch a Denver Rockies baseball game!

The Rockies were playing an important game against the Phillies with playoff implications.

It was a blow out! The Rockies offense was on fire.
It was a cool night when we first got there but as the night went on, we started to feel pretty cold. We made it through the whole game!
After a late night filled with baseball, we headed home to get ready for another full day.
We went to the Garden of the Gods!

There was a great exhibit in the visitor center that showcased how the red rocks were formed here. We even saw some more buffalos!

There were a lot more red rocks here!
We saw some interesting rock formations.

We saw some people climbing some of these columns! It looked like a lot of fun but I don’t think we would do something like that. At least, not so far off the ground.

After we left the Garden of the Gods, we stopped by a mall we were passing by. It was gorgeous! The shops were cute and clean. There was a sitting area with cute benches and nice facilities.

There was a baby seat in every stall, which was awesome if you had a small child.

I felt weird taking this picture, but I thought it was so cool! I remember having to trade off going to the bathroom with my sister at stores because my nephew would try to climb underneath the bathroom doors.
The mall wasn’t extremely crowded either! All the malls and outlets near Sacramento are always crowded and dirty no matter the time or day we would go. It was refreshing being able to browse through shops without having to dodge people.
The next day we checked out the Coors Brewery in Golden, Colorado.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to tour the facility since there weren’t enough staff members. We still got to do some of the tastings for free!
The Coors Brewery is the largest single brewery facility in the world.
There was a display on the history of Coors and some cool collectibles.
President Gerald Ford was a fan of Coors!

You can get three tastings each! We were sure people came frequently for free beer.
We had a Coors Lite for Grandma Faye!
We had a few more errands to finish so we called it a night and got ready for our flight back to California!
Hear about our exciting 8AM flight plans in our next blog!
