We packed up and said goodbye to Arizona. We were heading home.

The drive to the border was fine but once we were in California, things got crowded. We had to drive through Los Angeles. It wasn’t rush hour but it was more crowded than most of the places we had been to. Especially with the trailer attached! We noticed that trucks drove a lot slower than in other states, probably due to the 55mph speed limit.
Our next and last stop would be Doheny State Beach, around the coast of orange county. We got in at the campground right before it got dark. There were some complications since we thought we were getting a full hook-up site but that wasn’t the case.
After searching for the electrical hook-up for several minutes, we reread the paperwork and these sites had no hook-ups.
That was the only down-side to the campground. We were steps away from the beach and could hear the ocean from our trailer. It was pretty relaxing.
We had to bring out the generator to get things set up for the night. It was all going to work out. We were used to dry camping from all the places we had been to.
The next morning, we got ready to see Derek! He was doing an internship in Irvine. We drove up to Irvine to get a tour of the company!

His workplace was very cool- cafe with ping pong, volleyball, etc. After our tour, we had to stop for some donuts.
We headed back to the trailer to rest a bit before going out to dinner.
We decided to walk to the beach from our trailer. We hadn’t seen it since we got set up after dark. It was so close! We watched the sunset and it was beautiful.

It was a little sad since this would be our last sunset on our trip of a lifetime.

We were meeting Derek and our friend, Ryan, for dinner.
We met in the middle of Irvine and Aliso Viejo so it wouldn’t be too long of a drive for either of them. We were going to Chili’s!
Jared and Derek shared a little dessert for their upcoming birthdays.

It was an exciting dinner. We caught up and told some of the stories from our trip.
Dinner was done but we weren’t ready to go back to the trailer. Derek had to get back to Irvine but Jared and I headed to Aliso Viejo with Ryan to catch up some more and see Kelsey.

It was great seeing friends and family.
Even though we were on a trip of a lifetime that took us to some incredible views, we missed our people.
We were ready to be home.
We got back to the trailer pretty late but we wouldn’t have missed the chance to catch up with Ryan and Kelsey.
The next morning, we were hitching up again for the last time.

And just like that, we were on our way home. We didn’t necessarily have a home since we had packed up all of our belongings either in the trailer or in a storage container. We would be starting over but we were excited to begin a new adventure.
