Our full day at the Redwoods was jam packed with trees! Sorry in advance for all the tree pictures.
We checked out the Jedediah Smith State Park’s Visitor Center and watched an informative video on the Redwoods and what shaped its current state.
Jared found us a little trail called the Grove of Titans. It was an adventure going through the forest with ferns everywhere.

I think the best part of this particular trail was searching for these giant trees. At first, we didn’t know what was a Titan.

Above: Jared trying to point out which trees were the biggest.
We honestly could not tell. Until we came upon our first Titan – El Viejo del Norte.

We think Screaming Titans was the biggest one we saw.

After lunch at the campsite, we went off to explore Battery Point Lighthouse in Crescent City. It’s a lighthouse that can only be accessed during low tide.
We checked out some of the tidepools while we were there. We were able to see a whole bunch of hermit crabs, anemones, and even starfishes.
We drove back to camp but stopped to see some more trees!
The Simpson-Reed Grove has trees that are ancient (1,000 year old Redwoods) and huge.

Above: Jared took about 45 steps around this tree!

Wow… lookin good campers/glampers! Love the pictures… love be reading your stories.. I want to hear about all the good, the bad and the ugly…. lol.
