Canton, Ohio

We stayed at a KOA in Ohio! It was pretty nice. We opted for just water and electricity to save money so it wasn’t the most luxurious stay.

When we got to the campground, it was pretty dark. We had a back-in spot so we had to set up in the dark.

One of the many issues we had setting up was no cell signal. We usually use our phones to communicate while backing in. This wouldn’t have been too big of a deal since we also had walkie talkies, but of course, we hadn’t changed the batteries since they had died a month ago.

The site we were trying to maneuver into had weird angles and cement borders as a barrier for the site on our right. On the other side of the site was a small ditch to separate the site to our left.

And to make matters worse? The site in front of us parked their huge truck right in front of their site so that we weren’t able to back in with the best angle.

Most of the backing up process consisted of me running back and forth trying to tell Jared where to go and what not to hit. It was pretty late so we didn’t want to yell while everyone was sleeping.

It was a frustrating time for us. But our trailer tire only rested on the cement wall once. No tears or breaks this time.

Our attempts to back in just weren’t working. We’d been working on it for at least 15 minutes so we had to change our game plan.

Jared was now the one directing and I was the one backing in. We were finally in our site! We weren’t parked straight but we were tired and just wanted to rest.

Slightly askew was good enough for us as long as the slide had room to come out and the electricity line and water hose reached the hook-up.

What is in Canton, Ohio?

The Pro-Football Hall of Fame.

They were hosting some trading cards from a private collector but we weren’t allowed to take any pictures.

We did take some pictures of the wall art!

The hall of fame was a living museum. It also highlighted football’s start as a sport.

We got to try some of the equipment used in the NFL.

We compared ourselves to some NFL players too.

We saw the hall of bronze busts…

We saw 49ers’ legends like Joe Montana and Jerry Rice!

They had a really cool theater that used holograms and awesome sound effects. And of course, we weren’t allowed to take pictures or videos. We got to take some pictures afterwards.

They even had some new additions that happened days before like Drew Brees’ uniform and football when he surpassed Peyton Manning and Brett Favre as the NFL’s all-time passing yardage leader!

They keep and collect everything NFL here. Even the cards used during the NFL Draft.

We took lots of pictures with pictures and objects of Tom Brady.

Their theater showed the highlights of the last Super Bowl. It was put together very well.

We exited the theater and continued on. The museum was closing soon so we rushed through the last of it. When we headed down stairs, there was a whole section of interactive exhibits we didn’t really get to see.

They did have Carrie Underwood’s outfit when she performed the Monday Night football song.

There was so much to see and if we had known it would take us more than 3 1/2 hours to see it all, we would’ve come earlier.

Jared was happy to see all of the legends he grew up watching.

We headed back to the trailer to have dinner and get some laundry done.

While we were out doing laundry, we found an adult sized teeter totter! We struggled to climb on but it was great! We teetered in the night and had a blast.

Onwards to New York!
