Not quite on Spring Break.
We were camping at Myrtle Beach State Park. It was right on the beach!
It was definitely the off season but the campground was still almost full. There were a lot of kids running around outside. Especially with the playground right beside our campsite. We settled in for the day and made some brownies as a treat.
The next day, we headed to Broadway at the Beach. We decided we would watch a movie at the AMC theater. We had some free ticket vouchers we hadn’t used yet so we headed there first to make sure they would work. Since we were already in the area we decided to do a little shopping.
The souvenir shops were pretty empty so we enjoyed ourselves.
We even checked out Hudson’s Surfside Flea Market. It was a huge yard sale with different people selling goods. We heard some folks with thick southern accents.
They had a fish pond and you can get fish food from little machines near the water. These fish were fighting for the food. They surrounded the area once we stepped near the edge. I’m pretty sure some of the ducks were walking on top of fish in the water.

Everything seemed like lots of fun. We could imagine the crowds of people lining up for the Wonder Works.

We decided on heading home, but first, we stopped at the beach!

The weather was a little chilly so we were surprised a family let their daughter play in the water. We had to feel the water for ourselves.
The water was warm enough to enjoy a dip in the ocean. We were so used to the freezing water temps in the Pacific Ocean.
We started collecting some shells as souvenirs since they were all so beautiful. The beaches were empty compared to all the pictures of Myrtle Beach on Spring Break. It is definitely a different atmosphere in the off season.

The beaches were very clean. There wasn’t any trash, seaweed, or giant rocks. The ocean air never smelled so good.
After a walk along the beach, we headed back to the trailer for dinner. We had a movie to catch so we drove back to the Broadway at the Beach. We had tickets for Bohemian Rhapsody.
We had decided to stay another night in Myrtle Beach so that we could get the roof resealed. Jared called around looking for a mobile RV service and found someone to come out.
We decided to do so me laundry while we waited around. Jared even made a doctor’s appointment to get his ear checked out.
Unfortunately, the guy never showed up to do the roof repair.
We chugged on to our next stop – Charleston, South Carolina.
