Leaving New Orleans and getting to San Antonio would’ve been more than an 8 hour drive so we stayed at a Walmart in Baytown, Texas. After a few more hours on the road, we were in San Antonio!
We were staying at the KOA.

In the morning, we made biscuits and gravy before we went into town for the day.
The weather was significantly hotter than New Orleans. You can see from our outfits how warm it was. With all the traveling we did, the weather was another roller coaster we dealt with.
We found a great parking spot near the Alammo for $5 for the entire day. It was a short walk and totally worth the price.
We were visiting the Alamo. It was in the center of town which was very cool. The Alamo is free so all the activities available were surprising.

Some of the scenes painted as windows show what like was like.
The exhibit had some great information and it was so interesting to learn about. There was an informational film! We enjoyed all the films we saw. They gave a great overview of the history behind the places we’ve been.

There were some actors throughout the courtyard with various activities. I made some yard dolls!
It was the perfect day for being outside. After visiting more of the exhibits, we found seats to watch some Christmas carolers.

They were a great group of singers!

We walked around the area around the Alamo and went into some fun shops. We found the mall close by and walked around for some souvenirs. It was a beautiful mall with large windows.
There was a large outdoor area with a small canal. It was all decked out for Christmas too!

We got famished from all the exploring so far so we started our walk to the taco joint we looked up. Jared said they received great reviews.

We tried some tacos! Jared decided on puffy beef tacos. San Antonio is famous for delicious Mexican food.

I got the regular crunchy tacos.
This was a great place to eat! There were free chips and salsa. (Apparently, complimentary chips and salsa is not a common thing.) There weren’t too many people there for lunch.
After lunch, we walked back to the mall and hung out.

We continued walking down the walkway and it was so cool.

While Jared and I were walking underneath the bridge, something wet hit out interlocked hands.
Apparently, there are pigeons living underneath the bridge that like to poop on unsuspecting tourists. We rinsed our hands with the water bottles we had available before searching for the nearest restrooms.
We finally found one in a souvenir shop to wash our hands. After that whole debacle, we enjoyed our light stroll. It was beautiful with all the lights.
They had carolers on boats singing which made the stroll more lively. The sides were lined with restaurants. There was a lot of outdoor seating for the restaurants. Too bad we had dinner already.

We had such a great time in San Antonio.
We’ll have to come back to try some of the other restaurants on the Riverwalk.
